czyli teksty naszych chłopaków z trasy Smile
relacja pewnej osóbki:
Cytat:

Extreme not-musical highlights:

The night before Blackpool, accidentally hearing the full rehearsal while checking out the venue the night before. Seeing the guys come out to the tourbus and finally asking Bri about the Rizla game.

Me: Brian, what's the Rizla game?
Bri: *grin* Stick a rizla on your head, write a name on it..
Me: And guess who it is?
Bri: Yeah.
Me: Like who?
Bri: Jesus.

???? Odd boy.

Seeing Helena and Cody at Blackpool and Glasgow.

Blackpool:

Brian: I hope you're all enjoying Stefan's chest as much as I am...
Stef: For one night only.
Brian: We were discussing the best methods of waxing backstage earlier, but we'll continue that story later...

Looooots of WHOA SWEDE-GAZE eye contact with Stef, and when they went off, he waved to the crowd and I did that finger-hearts thing to him on my chest and he held his hands in front of his chest in the same way, and waved back with his fingers just at me.

Glasgow:

Brian: The first thing we're going to do when we get offstage tonight is wax Stef's chest.. it's going to be my favorite part of the evening.

Stef: Steve loves you!
Brian: And he doesn't like very many people, so.. *grin*

Brian: *starts BIWY*
Crowd: FALL..
Brian: *stops* Wait wait wait, it's meant to be louder.. I think I forgot to turn one of these on.. *looks at effects pedals* *looks up* It's definatly meant to be louder... Ladies and gentlemen, we have now reached the part of the show we like to call.. Technical Difficulties! You know.. if you want to see a fucking perfect show, go and see fucking James Blunt... it's definatly one of these little boxes! *stamps around* It's called an effects pedal, James Blunt's never seen one in his fucking life!!! Ok.. ok.. *nods and grins* I think.. we're good to go.

*after The Bitter End*
Brian: I'm sorry if that performance of The Bitter End was a little lackluster.. you see as I was changing my guitar I hit myself in the face.. and it's getting a little swollen. *taps lip*
Stef: Aw, you're hard, come on.
Brian: Huh?
Stef: You're Scottish! You're hard! You can take it!
Brian: You're Swedish! YOU can take it!
Stef: *gestures with head to back of stage* Shall we take this outside?
Brian: Do you wanna have a go? Guitars at dawn, then!

Only it was way funnier and more flowing and less 'script' than that.

After Special K:

Brian: Playing that song always makes me feel like I'm in Green Day or something... does anyone here like Green Day?
Crowd: *uncertain rumble like they wanted to say yes but thought Bri wanted them to say no*
Brian: I think they're alright... for an American band. Bit poppy... but who's the American Idiot here tonight? *points to himself with very cute apologetic shrug* Here is a song inspired by Green Day.... NOT. *breaks into Nancy Boy*

Meeting them properly again after the Glasgow show.

Brian: *to my Finnish friend* Yes, it got to something like 4 in Finland, didn't it?
Me: Yeah, it got to 4 in Australia too!
Brian: *trying to imitate/tease my accent* Orright, diddit then?
Me: Oh my god, that was so bad. That was actually terrible.
Brian: *laughs* I know.
Me: Come on, you must be able to do better than that..
Brian: I spent three years at drama school trying to learn accents, still can't do it.

Me: Did you eat the TimTams?
Steve: *grins* You!! That was you!!!! Yeah, they went down well actually!
Me: Good, I only had a couple packets left.. everyone keeps saying they're..
Steve: The same as Penguin Bars, yeah.
Me: They're not, they're NOT!!
Steve: *laughs* Yes they are.

Loooooooong cuddle from Stef, like a good 15 seconds, and a quick hug and KISS from Steve. (XD XD XD)

Me: I'm thinking about going over to some French shows too if I have money, but I've heard the fans..
Stef: Yeah, they're kind of..
Me: Crazy?
Stef: *flailing arm movements* Beware the French!!!!

Taking a photo for some girls, with Brian - "Wait, you have to show it to me, make sure it looks ok!!" Vain prat. *grins*

Newcastle: It snowed during the day and we made a little tent out of some tarpaulins and blankets from a £-stretcher, and I stole a promo poster and made a sign on the back that read WE'RE DEDICATED, HOW ARE YOU? and hung it over the front.... Stef was obviously trying to read it during Come Home and then... and then.. during Cops, Brian SUNG those words [we're (or possibly they're) dedicated, rather than I'm medicated] and pointed along at me, grinning. I was so shocked and kind of embarrassed but it was so cool. Also during that show, caught Stef's eye again and blew him a kiss and he blows one back to me, he is such a campy flirt.

btw ludzie rozdają promocyjne prezerwatywy Placebo... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Cytat:
he Friday Night Project

Me, Megan , Em, and Naomi were at that Friday Night Project taping last night. Basically it involved 3 hours of watching Placebo sit around on a stage being cutely bored.

It was way too entrancing to be quite healthy.

I'll try put this all in order..

Megan and I got there about 2:30pm and were wandering around, and we go into the London Studios reception to ask where the queue was going to be for the audience. At least, I asked, and then Megan tapped my arm and started muttering something - which took me about 30 seconds to work out was 'SteveSteveSteveSteveSTEVE' - he'd just come out from inside the studio to reception.

This is the worst, most embarrassing thing, most fangirly I've ever done. I do a half turn to see what she wants, in the same split second realise she's been saying STEVE at me because I see him, and I say, out loud, like full volume. 'OhMyGod'. And he heard it. It was highly embarrassing... I NEVER do that about famous people, I guess I just wasnt expecting to see him and I was shocked. Anyway we just went outside, and he came out after us, waved and grinned at us - he's met Megan and me twice or three times each - but was on his mobile phone so we didn't bother him.

Then we were just walking up and down along the road and I'm like 'Megan.. Stef.' and he's walking towards us. I say 'hello' to him all brightly and he's like 'hi...' - Stef is the one I've met/spoken to the most times and for the longest. And he was looking at me like.. 'I recognise you.. am I meant to actually know who you are and have forgotten, or are you just a fan?' - so there was this stilted moment. I then asked him to sign my Meds book which cleared that up for him, and he relaxed and talked to us for a nice 10 minutes, about hating the World Cup (he hates the flags on the cars everywhere too) - Megan told him she'd cheered for Sweden cause she wantedto piss off England fans. He told her that he'd gone for England to piss off his Swedish friends - the fact they're playing a venue I HATE in Sydney, he was all 'yeah but we'll make it sound good.' and we talked about how we both prefer the Enmore. We said we'd just been wandering about til it was time to line up, and he started telling me about the area and pointed out a place that we should go have a drink and see the river - I think he thinks I'm a tourist, he asked how long I was over for, whether it was a holiday, why I came - that was the worst part because I had to say, 'well, I came over for the tour...' and he sort of looked at me in disbelief.

This was really nice, he is ALWAYS amazingly lovely and Megan hadn't met him properly before.

Alright. Inside... we got seated, the band came up onto their little platform, and then the hosts came on. And then came 3 hours of watching the boys sit around not being filmed, except for getting a few little fill/sting things.

It was wonderful. It sounds ridiculous but it WAS. I shall try to explain why:

Bri yawns like a kitten. And was throwing bottlecaps at Bill. And kept smoking, and Steve kept taking to fags off of him. And was sitting cross-legged on the floor cuddling his guitar, yawning in his kitteny way. And at one point he crawled across the stage on all fours to talk to his techie, which aside from being cute, was so anti 'dignified Princess Molko' that it made me laugh. They were randomly strumming and testing their guitars and at one point I heard Bri picking out the vocal melody to 'Johnny and Mary'

We were meant to be watching the comedey/interviews going on. Yeah, right. Like that was gonna happen.

As far as I could see, it was just the 4 of us who were obviously there for Placebo and were very much OMG LOOK AT THEM BEING CUTE AND FUNNY the whole time - Brian kept looking over at us a bunch, he knew we were there for them and I think he thought it was amusing.

It was seriously so nice, watching them just being THEM, no cameras on them etc, laughing and pouting about (Bri was having a bit of an 'i'm boooored' sulk but was doing it very cutely).. watching what they found funny, etc. As I said, they saw us too and kept looking over at us.. at this one point before all the taping started, the floor manager was encouraging us to dance to get the crowd hyped up... to 'who let the dogs out..' and we just looked at each other and Em put it perfectly... 'this is the worst thing I've ever done for Placebo.' Steve and Brian were POINTING AND LAUGHING AT US because they could see how much we did NOT want to be dancing, so as we stopped dancing I turned my un-enthusiastic flailing into a double middle-finger-salute in Brian's direction.

I'm going a bit fangirly. Which is odd, because it's PLACEBO, they're my guys, my band, I've had them so long that I'm not all stupid over them anymore- at least not publically... but I don't know what it was about watching them last night. Bri, I think, the way he was being so totally adorably CUTE. He LOOKED cute, ACTED cute, and was just being.. himself.. which I guess I have never seen. Like, I've never watched him NOT being the centre of attention before. That was the thing that made it so good, I think..

It's actually stupid how well I know his face and his sense of humour by now- as he listened to the interviews and jokes and stuff I could tell EXACTLY what he found actually funny, what he was giving a sardonic unimpressed smile at, and what was making him just go WTF. Like when one of the hosts said something in French REALLY badly, Brian's face just froze and was like 'I am in pain. Oh god'. Then later when he was standing up fiddling with his guitar, the hosts mentioned Bowie and I swear, you saw him sort of stop in his tracks and his ears perked up and he got interested. He also looked extra-sweet, which helped - girls jeans, a massive white suit shirt that came to the tops of his thighs and was too long on the arm so it covered the tops of his hands, and a tight black v-neck jumper over it.

What else.. oh yeah. Obviously, as they were playing, their techs were there, which means THE WONDERFUL STIG. We called to him as the taping ended and he looked across vaguely, saw it was us who was calling and laughed and waved, like 'oh YOU, I might have known YOU'D be here'. I love that guy.

They also had another speaking bit which wasn't shown.. the host said that he'd been reading up on Placebo and had found out about a strange hobby of theirs: collecting prostitues calling cards and sending them out anonymously to people as post cards. Apparently there's a shop on Regent Street that gets one from them every Christmas for something like the last 10 years, saying 'hope to see you again' etc - but he refused to say which one. It was an amusing story, did anyone know about this before?

When they played the song, we of course went nuts, everyone was sort of vaguely clapping along.. we were moshing, fist throwing, doing the ONE MORE THING finger-point thing back at Bri... just four of us, in the middle of a seated audience. Apparently someone behind us said 'what the hell is going on?!' about us. Aha, oh well. Their loss.

I just watched the program and oh lord, you can see us.. everyone was mildly nodding and clapping and there is shot of the audience from behind, and you see this line of 4 fists being thrown in unison. The video quality wasn't very good, was it? They all looked about 19797x better in person last night than they did on the TV.

I can't remember if there was anything else interesting to report.. you guys? Em Megan Naomi, did I miss anything?

I will NEVER get over this band. Never.

Never.
